To facilitate automated BIM design, a Field Of Application (FOA) must be defined for each specific BIM Solution. The FOA outlines the conditions under which a specific firestop BIM Solution can be effectively used, essentially defining the performance limits of the firestop solution. This ensures that the solutions are applied correctly and efficiently in various construction scenarios. 

Manufacturers can manage and update the FOA for each BIM Solution online. Once the FOA is defined and activated by the manufacturer, end-users with an OB BIM license can automatically select these solutions for their BIM projects. However, this selection depends on the end-user having previously selected the manufacturer as their preferred choice. This ensures that the end-user’s projects are consistently aligned with their preferred firestop solutions. 

The process of selecting the correct firestop BIM Solution is performed online by the end-user, based on the processed FOA provided by their preferred manufacturer. Once the approved firestop BIM Solutions are selected online, these solutions can be loaded and integrated into the BIM environment by the end-user with a simple push of a button. This seamless integration saves time and reduces the potential for errors, enhancing the overall efficiency of the design process.
